Herbert Dean Pledger

Our beloved Dad, Herbert Dean Pledger, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in Lonoke County Arkansas. Herbert, a retired farmer, was born January 21, 1931 in the Dutch Creek Community of Yell County, Arkansas to the late Tom and Maudie Walker Pledger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Richardson Pledger, daughter Lisa Michelle Pledger, brothers, Temus and Boyd and sisters, Sybil, May, Elois and Reba. Herbert was a member of Highway 367 Church of Christ in Austin and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who dearly loved his family. He is survived by two daughters, Lyn (Ben) Hicks of Austin, Kasey (George) Dobson of Lonoke, an adopted daughter, Kathy (Gerald) Harrelson of Beebe and a son, Steve (Renee) Pledger of Lonoke, one brother, JV Pledger of North Little Rock and one sister, Ola Young of Pine Bluff, along with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 22 at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 23 at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
