Lamar L. "Jack Jr." Byler

Mr. Lamar L. "Jack Jr." Byler passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of the morning September 10, 2011. Jack was born December 4, 1925 in Kensett, Arkansas and was the son of Lawrence Lamar "Jack" Byler (1894-1965) and Nancy Landers Byler (1895-1989). He had one sister Nancy Mae (1929-1931). Mr. Byler is survived by his two children Nancy Carol Crawford of Carlsbad, California and her husband Don, and Lawrence Lamar "Larry" Byler, II of Boron, California and his wife Pat. He leaves behind five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as close cousins Richard B. Homard of Little Rock, Pat Homard of Searcy, Martha Mills Dixon and Rebecca Mills Yates both formerly of Kensett. Jack was a career Navy man and a very kind soul. When he retired from the Navy in the early 1970s he returned home to Little Rock, Arkansas to care for his Mother and other elder relatives. All that knew him loved him, especially his character and wit. Friends and family referred to him as "Cadillac Jack" as that is the only type of car he insisted on owning. He will be buried at sea off the coast of San Diego, California with military honors. The date of those services is pending at this time. Local arrangements are by Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. 501-661-9111. Online guest register for Mr. Byler is available at www.griffinleggetthealeyroth.com.
