Fay D. Pierce

Fay D. Pierce, age 76, of Flippin, Arkansas passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012 at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. Fay was born in Flippin, Arkansas on August 18, 1935. He was the son of the late William and Nettie (Stafford) Pierce. He was a retired Tool & Die maker for Micro Plastics. Fay was a peacetime veteran of the United States Army from 1959-1961. He married the former Helen Sue Duble on December 22, 1962. Fay loved to hunt, fish, and just being outdoors, as well as watching baseball and working jigsaw puzzles. For many years, he operated the Pierce DX gas station in Flippin. He attended Flippin Christian Church for many years. He is survived by: his wife, Helen Sue, of Flippin; one son, William "Joey" Pierce, of Henderson, Texas; three daughters: Myra Terry of Benton, Arkansas; Lynn Shree Deem of Lakeview, Arkansas; and Susan Graham of Little Rock, Arkansas. Fay is also survived by nine grandchildren: Jackie, Minnie, Sara, Angie, Faith, Georgette, Richard, Robby and William; six great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Liz Pierce of Flippin, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy; two brothers: Ray and Dennis; and a sister, Edna Owen. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Flippin Christian Church with Pastor Steve Bond officiating. Interment will follow at Flippin Cemetery in Flippin, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Tom Baker, Gary Cranfill, Jack Hamel, Doyle Linck, Blake Owen, Burl Owen, and Ron Proctor.
