Calvin Luther Muldrow Jr.

Calvin Luther Muldrow Jr., age 88, of North Little Rock passed away peacefully at his home on April 9, 2O12. He is predeceased by father, Calvin Luther Muldrow Sr., mother, Ernestine Anderson Muldrow and youngest sister, Mamie Muldrow Weems. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lucy Cole Muldrow, daughter Karen Muldrow Williams, granddaughters, Faith and Myah Williams, sisters Zerita Harrison (Robert) and Minnie Johnson. He graduated from Dunbar High School, in 1940 and joined the United States Army where he tenured three years. With honorable discharge, he returned home where he graduated from Philander Smith College with a BA degree in English and Political Science in 1949. He subsequently completed a Masters degree in Education and Administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He spent 29 years as an educator with the North Little Rock Public School District, with 22 years as an elementary school principal. He continued his commitment to public service via work on the North Little Rock Civil Service Commission and within community organizations. Family will welcome friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, each at Bethel AME Church, 600 Cedar Street, North Little Rock.
