Harold Lewis Franks

HAROLD LEWIS FRANKS of North Little Rock, was born on May 14, 1919 in Oil City, La. to Lela and Lewis Amos Franks. He passed away April 20, 2012 in Heber Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marguerite Spurgeon Franks. Harold served as Master Sergeant in the Army of the United States during World War II where he received the American Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. He spent his professional career in insurance sales and continued to work at Sam's Club as a part-time food demonstrator upon his retirement. He also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and at the Patrick Henry Hays Senior Citizens Center. He attended First Assembly of God Church of North Little Rock where he was a member of the Sanctuary Class and enjoyed Keenagers pot lucks. He is survived by son, George Ronald Franks and wife Terri of Heber Springs, Ark. and daughter Debra Ann Franks Reynolds and husband Sam of Bedford, Mass.; one granddaughter, Lara Hum and husband Jason of North Little Rock, Ark. and three grandchildren, Madelyn, Sydney and Jonah Hum and three sisters, Olene Bateman and Elaine Davis of Lindale, Texas and Christine Nelson of Tempson, Texas. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m.to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April, 24 at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, North Little Rock, Ark. 72114 with the service to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. E. Joe Wilmoth officiating. There will be a military burial at Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock, 4501 Burrow Drive, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116.
