Bill Taylor Moon

Bill Taylor Moon, age 87, of Rose Bud, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 21, 2012. He was born August 4, 1924 in Rose Bud, Arkansas to Yandell David and Myrtle Taylor Moon. He is survived by four children, Billy Mitchell "Mickey" Moon and wife Shirley of Romance, Robert Larry Moon and wife Jackie of Conway, Freddie Don Moon of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Tonya ReNee Moon of Charlottesville, Virginia, and one sister-in-law, Charlsie Roberts of Rose Bud; nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Fredda Colleen (DuPriest) Moon; his parents; two brothers, Jack and Jacob Moon; and one sister, Gretchen Earles. Mr. Moon was a member of the Methodist Church of Rose Bud. He was a reactor operator at Arkansas Nuclear One in Russellville, Arkansas. He retired from Entergy on July 31, 1984. He served in World War II in the South Pacific Theatre under General Douglas MacArthur from 1944-1946. He was a past Mayor of Rose Bud and was currently a councilman. Rose Bud City Park was named in his honor. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Funeral services will be Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at the Rose Bud Methodist Church with interment following at Rose Bud Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:-8 p.m., at Olmstead Funeral Home.
