Isaac Vernon Hight

Isaac Vernon (I.V.) Hight, 70 of Bryant, passed away April 22, 2012. He was a faithful servant and minister of the Lord. He pastored six churches, preached over 400 revivals, and preached the annual message at one national association meeting and two state association meetings. He held numerous offices in local, state and national levels of the Baptist Missionary Association. After pastoring for 37 years, he served as Arkansas State Mission's Director for 12 years before resigning for health reasons. He was a graduate of Jacksonville Baptist College, Stephen F. Austin University and BMA Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Texas. Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Renna King Hight; one son, BMA of Arkansas Hispanic Director Michael Hight; and three daughters, Karyn Sorrells (wife of BMA Pastor Ernie Sorrells), Julia Wood and Sara Hight; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Two funeral services and visitations are planned for Bro. Hight: Park Place Baptist Church in Bryant. Visitation Friday, April 27, 2012 between 6-8 p.m. Funeral services Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 10 a.m., Unity Baptist Church at Hope. Visitation Saturday, April 28, 2012 between 3-4 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope under the direction of Herndon Pharr Funeral Home in Hope. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to BMA of Arkansas Missions (designated for Hispanic Missions), P.O. Box 195514, Little Rock, Ark. 72219.
