Roger E. Dollar

Roger E. Dollar, 49, of Orlando, Florida, passed away into eternal peace on Friday, April 20th, 2012. Roger was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on Thursday, October 11th, 1962 to Jerry Earl and Bobbie Dollar. Roger was a member of the 1981 graduating class of Huttig High School, then he went on to earn a Bachelors in Industry Management from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas. He worked at Prescolite in El Dorado, Arkansas and then for The Strong Company located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was transferred to Orlando, Florida in 1996 and in 1997 began working for Quadex, Inc. where he was the Vice President of Marketing and Sales. He was dedicated to the service of his customers and friends. Roger is survived by his loving wife, Lara Thornton Dollar of Orlando, Fla.; his parents, Jerry Earl and Bobbie Dollar of El Dorado, Ark.; sister and brother-in-law, Ronda and Cliff Harbour of El Dorado, Ark.; parents-in-law, Jan and Bill Hearnsberger and Robin and Denver Thornton of El Dorado, Ark.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Paul Stone of El Dorado, Ark.; and five nieces and nephews. Roger loved living in Orlando, live music at the House of Blues, dining at The Palm, entertaining friends, and spending time with his family. He was always making people laugh and had a gift of creating and maintaining relationships, both personally and professionally. A Community Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Atrium of Immanuel Baptist Church located at 701 South West Avenue, El Dorado, Arkansas. A Memorial honoring Roger's life and burial will be held in Orlando, Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Roger Dollar Memorial Fund at Simmons First Bank of El Dorado, 100 West Grove Street, El Dorado, Arkansas 71730.
