James H. Rhodes

James H. Rhodes 81, of Hot Springs Village, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012. He was born July 25, 1931 in Ypsilanti, MI to Harvey F. Rhodes and Laura Kitchen Rhodes. He is predeceased by three sisters, Ethel, Edna, and Helen and his parents. James attended Ferris State University where he received his Bachelor's of Science degree. He was known as "Dusty" in college and enjoyed sports, where he was a member of the 1949 Michigan Class B State Basketball Championship team. James served in the United States Navy on the USS Sierra-AD. He achieved the rank as HM 2. In his career he did accounting for a building contractor, and worked as an X-ray Tech for several orthopedic clinics. He was member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village and the men's golf group. He is survived by his wife, Ladonna Rhodes Phd, and nephews, Tim Adams of Northville, Mich., and Steve Adams of Rifle, Colo. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church with Reverend Henry Behling officiating. Honorary pallbearers are the Men's golf group.
