Parker Dozhier of Hot Springs, passed way Monday, August 27, at Mercy Hospice in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born to Erven Lee Dozhier and Lenore Parker Dozhier on October 2, 1941. Parker led an interesting and adventure filled life. His travels took him to remote locations in China, Korea, Canada, and Africa. He worked in many professions. He was a hunter, trapper, consultant, author, photographer, fur broker, and fishing camp operator. Among his many accomplishments were the publication of two successful novels and the establishment of Dozhier's Rainbow Landing, a Hot Springs landmark that has received national attention. He also single handedly negotiated the first U.S. fur trade agreements with communist China. His knowledge of the international fur trade was unrivalled in the United States during the turn of the 21st century. Parker Dozhier was a modern day Renaissance Man. He was a friend and mentor to many. The world has lost a great man, he will be missed. A celebration of life memorial service for Parker will be held at the Rainbow Landing, 262 Sharon Terrace, Hot Springs, Ark. The event will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 1st.
