Gerald Lynn Balch

Mr. Gerald Lynn Balch, 58, of Tuckerman, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012. He was born August 4, 1953 at Newport, the son of G.L. and Mary Ann (Williams) Balch. On February 21, 1975, he married Miss Sheri Lynn Gallegly. Mr. Balch was a truck driver at Dowell Transport of Batesville, and a member of Diaz Baptist Church. He loved playing video games, puzzles, board games, watching all sports, and hunting. Mr. Balch enjoyed telling stories to his grandchildren, and was a huge Arkansas Razorback fan. He was preceded in death by his father, G.L. Balch. Mr. Balch is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Sheri Lynn Balch of the home; one son, Gerry Lee Balch and wife Micah of Grubbs; his mother, Mary Ann Balch of Diaz; one brother, Jimmy Don Balch and wife Teri of Diaz; two grandchildren, Gunner Balch and Ethan Balch; two nephews, David and Jeffrey Balch; and his parents-in-law, Dale and Genoa Gallegly of Mt. View. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
