Dorace Geraldine Bishop

Dorace Geraldine Bishop, 82, of Plainview died Feb. 11, 2012 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born July 6, 1929 in Putnam, Okla. to the late Clifford Gorrell and Mittie Edith Gorrell. Mrs. Bishop was a homemaker and a member of Plainview Free Will Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by: her husband, Bro. Gene Bishop; and a sister, Dayle Denney. Survivors include: four sons, Bro. David Bishop and wife Patsy of Atkins, Brother Dale Bishop and wife Sandra of Sapporo, Japan, Mark Bishop and wife Marilyn of Lake Village, and Nathan Bishop and wife Marlene of Plainview. Other survivors include: two sisters, Kathryn Yerton of Farmington and Mary Belle Lea of Richmond, Va., nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday Feb. 13, 2012 at Plainview Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 14, 2012 at Plainview Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Ronnie Garrett and Bro. Don Matchett officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.
