Roy Lee Wooten, age 86, of Center Ridge passed away February 15, 2012. He was born on March 8, 1925 in Martinville, Arkansas to Lonnie Lee Wooten and Lucille Williamson Wooten. Roy was a promoter of bluegrass nationwide as well as an owner and operator of Roger Wooten Memorial Park. He was often referred to as "Mr. Bluegrass." He is survived by his wife Trena; sons, Danny (Delores) Wooten of Springfield, David (Mary) Wooten of Greenbrier, Bobby (Sandy) Wooten of Springfield, Skip (Renee) Wooten of Springfield; daughter Bevelyn (Mike) Fields of Elkins; stepchildren, Jacque Mahan of Morrilton, David Hill of Springfield, Becky (Chris) Salard of Morrilton; brother-in-law Romie Sledge of Springfield; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Wooten, brother, Irple Wooten, and sister, Emma Jean Sledge. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 18 at 2 p.m. at the Springfield Baptist Church with Bro. Lindy Davis officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Creek Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Online guestbook: www.harrisfuneralhomes.net.
