Sherry McKinnon Locke

Sherry Juanita Locke, age 69, of Malvern, died Tuesday in the Hot Spring County Medical Center. She was born on November 4, 1942 in Butte , Montana to the late Richard Edward McKinnon and Juanita Kantla McKinnon. Reared and receiving her early education in Montana and Idaho, Sherry later earned her bachelor's degree in education from Eastern Montana College of Education (now Montana State in Billings ). She received her master's degree in education from Henderson State University. Sherry had taught in the Prattsville, Gifford, and Glen Rose school districts for a total of 35 years prior to her retirement in 2005. She was a member of first United Methodist Church , the Jo Fisher Sunday School Class, and United Methodist Women. Sherry had also been a Girl Scout leader for a number of years. She is survived by her husband, Paul Locke, to whom she was married on August 17, 1963 at First Methodist Church, Malvern; her son, Kerry Paul Locke and his wife Sandy of Glen Rose; her daughter, Christie Juanita Storm and her husband David of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; her brother Hugh McKinnon and his wife Ramona of Malvern; her grandchildren, Tony Storm, Joshua Locke, Jordan Locke, Zoe Storm, and Austin Storm; and her step-sister, Valita Goza Loser and her husband Greg of San Antonio, Texas. Sherry was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Elsie Bess McKinnon. Her funeral will be on Monday afternoon, February 20, 2012, at two o'clock, in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church with Reverend LaVon Post officiating. Visitation will be in the fellowship hall of the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lew Waniewski, David Storm, and her grandchildren, Joshua and Jordan Locke, Zoe, Austin, and Tony Storm. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. and Mrs. Larry Brashears, Mitchell Burris, Mary Waniewski, Shirley Blair, and Shirley McGalliard.
