James Richard White "J.R." or "Jim," 86, of Little Rock passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 from a long illness. Born March 19, 1925 to Esther and Clint White of Antioch, Arkansas, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie White, his parents, two sisters, Myra Campbell and Aleen Mash and two brothers, John L. and Warren White. Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Betty; son, James R. White, Jr., (Rick) and wife, Susan; granddaughter, Holly White; nieces, Ruth Abington and husband, Doc Abington and Carla Coleman and husband, Tom Coleman; a host of nephews; and a sister-in-law, Christine White. He was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scimitar Shrine Temple of Little Rock. He graduated from Beebe High School and was a Navy Veteran of WWII stationed at Pearl Harbor. Following his time in the Navy, Jim began his business career in Sales and Marketing for 40 years at Arkansas Stationary and Furniture, Manager of Gestetner Corporation, and later had his own business selling and servicing equipment until he retired. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved playing golf with his friends at Western Hills Country Club, and enjoyed camping on the lakes with his sons and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice Home Care of Little Rock, especially Laynette and Sheri with Elder Independence, our neighbors and friends. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Antioch Cemetery in Beebe, Arkansas.
