Kevin Joseph Morgan

Kevin Joseph Morgan, 30, of Seward, Alaska, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at his residence. Kevin was a native of Dermott; a resident of Seward for the past six months and a former resident of Hermitage and Monticello. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1999 and attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe and the University of Arkansas at Monticello and was currently attending the Alaska Technical Institute. He was a licensed, certified Boat Captain and had his Hazmat License. He was a Christian and an avid Razorback fan. He is preceded in death by his father, Roger Dale Morgan in 1996; a brother, William Jason Morgan; his grandfathers, William Curtis Nolan and George Thomas Morgan; his aunt, Jeannie Phillips; his uncle, Ronnie Sledge and his step-grandfather, Jim Mashburn. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Donna Nolan Morgan and Jimbo Mashburn, of Hermitage; a sister, Jessica Morgan Sayers of Aberdeen, South Dakota; step-sister, Lindsey Mashburn Johnson of Crossett; three step-brothers, James Earl Mashburn and Clint Allen Mashburn both of Hermitage and Matthew Scott Mashburn of New Mexico; his grandmothers, Bonnie Gene Noland and Jane Adams both of Dermott; his step-grandmother, Viola Cullum of Bald Knob; three aunts, Linda Lee of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Janice Sledge of Dermott and Brenda Cossey of Missouri; two uncles, Gene Phillips of Dermott and Bill Nolan of Monroe, Louisiana and numerous cousins. Graveside service and burial are 11 a.m., Wednesday in the Dermott Cemetery with Rev. David Vaughan officiating. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Tuesday.
