James Gerald Totty

James Gerald Totty, 65 of Fordyce, died Sunday, January 8, 2012. He was born August 20, 1946 in Eudora, Arkansas to the late Cecil and Theda Eva Gage Totty. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil Gene and Charles Wayne Totty. Gerald was a deacon and faithful member of Southside Baptist Church for 35 years. He was an active member of Gideon's International for 34 years and a Justice of the Peace for six years. He was the Rison Wildcat Equipment Coordinator for 14 years and worked for Alltel for 36 years. But his favorite job was being "Popa" to Jacy, Kathryn, Presley, and Noah and then being "Big G" to his Southside and Wildcat kids. Gerald is survived by his wife of 43 1/2 years, Edith Fleming Totty of Fordyce; two sons, Wade (Rebecca) Totty of Rison and Clay (Heather) Totty of Rison; six sisters, Martha (Bill) Park of Lonoke, Patsy Pinckard of Centerville, Tenn., Marilyn Norman of Fordyce, Judy (Terry) Launius of Bearden, Sandra Wilson of Fordyce and Debbie (Donnie) Ritchie of Fordyce; Granchildren, Jacy, Presley, Kathryn, and Noah Totty all of Rison; and "Grandmoma", Majorie Fleming. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Wednesday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel.
