Billy Eugene Durden

Billy Eugene Durden, born July 25, 1926 near Humnoke, Ark. to William (Buster) Durden and Zettie Sales Durden. He was a retired farmer, avid hunter, fisherman and a life-long resident of Humnoke/Humphrey area. He went home to be with the Lord June 29, 2012 at Pines Nursing and Rehab Center in Hot Springs, Ark. He was 84. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years, Pauline Lyons Durden; five brothers, Carl, Lewis, Freed Durden, Joe and Edward Crockett. One Step-brother, Tom Goad; three sisters, Jewel Durden, Beatrice Crawford, and Burlee McMillen. He is survived by two sisters, Norma Strawn (twin) of Humnoke and Betty Rodgers of Sun City, Calif. Four children, Billie Jean Sherman (Jimmy) of Humphrey, Becky Hall (Calvin) of Little Rock, Patty Bogy (Tommy) of Wabbaseka, and Carlos Durden (Nichole) of Bismarck. 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Visitation services will be Monday, July 2 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and Funeral Services at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3 at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart, Ark. Interment will be at Flynn Cemetery. The family request in leau of flowers that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association. The family will be gathered at 111 North Division St. in Humphrey.
