Darvin Ray Purdy

Darvin Ray Purdy, 68, of DeWitt died Friday, July 6, 2012. He was born April 2, 1944, in DeWitt to the late Henry Grant Purdy and Lois Trussell Purdy. He was a graduate of DeWitt High School, University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and obtained his Juris Doctorate in Atlanta, Ga. He practiced law in Kennesaw, Ga., and was mayor of that city. He is survived by three children: Courtney Rae Yarbrough of Athens, Ga., Wyatt McLaren Chapman of Jacksonville, Fla. and Charles Grant Purdy of Fort Smith; and one brother Waymon Dean Purdy of Richmond, Va. Funeral services will be Monday, July 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church in DeWitt officiated by Bro. Donald Lee Ruffin. Burial will follow at DeWitt Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home.
