William C. (Bill) Thomas, age 82, of Arkadelphia, was called by his Heavenly Father to come home Friday, July 6, 2012. He was born May 18, 1930 in Newton County, Ark. the son of Arthur and Katie Chandler Thomas. He served seven years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War where he was stationed in Japan. He owned a medical equipment company in Dallas, Texas until he sold the business in 1981 and moved to Eureka Springs. In December of 2005 they moved to Arkadelphia. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Gnaegy and Mary Guiterrez and two brothers, Leonard Harril Thomas and Guy Leon Thomas. Survivors include his wife of over 55 years, Mildred A. "Bunny" Flake Thomas; two sisters, Evelyn Baxter and Iris Marie Eaton both of West Monroe, La.; two brothers, Donald Ray Thomas of Bossier City, La. and Arthur "Buddy" Thomas Jr. of Tyler, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Grady Higgs and Bro. Ray Franklin officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
