James Michael Aulwes
JAMES MICHAEL AULWES, 65, of Little Rock, passed away July 12, 2012. Born in Minneapolis, Minn. to Phillip and Mildred Aulwes, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam. He served 20 years with the Little Rock Police Department, where he founded the DWI Squad and the hostage negotiation team, retiring as a Lieutenant. He also worked for Little Rock Mitsubishi for 20 years and Jackson Hewitt.
Preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Aulwes; nephew, Johnathan Taft and sister-in-law, Robin Blair, he is survived by his wife, Linda Aulwes; son, James and wife, Dena of Sherwood; daughters, Melanie Aulwes and Melissa Aulwes; father, Phillip Aulwes of Burnsville, Minn.; brothers, Phil and Joanne Aulwes of Savannah, Ga. and Jeff and Lavonna Aulwes of Edina, Minn.; sisters, Joanne Taft of Burnsville and Judith Johnson of Minneapolis, Minn.; mother-in-law, Mary Blair of Little Rock; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Randy Allison; brother-in-law, Richard Blair; grandchildren, Haley York, Adam York, Cassie Aulwes, Mason Aulwes and Elizabeth Kelly; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews; and his LRPD family.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be Monday, July 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Bro. Tom Ackerman. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
