James Marvin Cates

James Marvin Cates, 82, of McRae, died Sunday, July 8, 2012. He was a member of Royal Hill Baptist Church in Floyd and worked for the highway department for many years. He was born May 8, 1930 to the late John and Sarah Richardson Cates. Mr. Cates is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Holly of Gravel Hill and Victoria Burns of Hot Springs; two step-children, Phyllis Dawson and her husband, Norman of Kingsland, Calif., and James Weatherly and his wife, Lanette of Beebe; one sister, Lucy Reeves of Greers Ferry; one brother, Leon Cates of Russellville; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.
