Nickie Willis Whittaker

Nickie Willis Whittaker, 63, of Des Arc, born July 26, 1949 in Des Arc to father, John Wesley Whittaker Jr., and mother, Helen Stacy, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Des Arc. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Whittaker Jr., and his first wife, Doris Sue Whittaker. Nickie is survived by his wife, Freda Whittaker; his mother, Helen Whittaker; and his children, Nickie Willis Whittaker II, Wesley Allen Whittaker, Danny Ray Merrell Jr., and Jennifer Ann Williams. He is also survived by his siblings, Peggy Elizabeth Jones, Mary Francis Sanner, and Ellen Yuteve Vincent, and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012, at Arkansas Funeral Care, 2620 W. Main Street, Jacksonville, Ark. Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Des Arc Gospel Mission Church. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Prairie Arkansas.
