James Arlin Craig Jr., 65, of Little Rock, passed away on July 23, 2012 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born February 10, 1947 to Arlin and Evelyn Craig, who preceded him in death. Jim managed his family business, Red Gate Liquor, which was established in 1951, then succeeded his father as owner and through his tireless work and dedication it expanded to a new facility in 1991 and grew into the flourishing business it is today. The success of the business was due to Jim's dedication to his loyal customers. Jim was highly respected in the liquor industry in Arkansas and graciously shared his success by supporting many local charities. In his leisure time Jim enjoyed being with his family and playing with his granddaughters. He was an avid fisherman and never missed the opportunity to spend time at the lake with his bass fishing buddies. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alexander. Jim attended Mabelvale High School where he graduated in 1965. He attended Henderson University for two years then completed his education with a degree in history from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Survivors include his wife Druetta Hobbs Craig with whom he enjoyed a loving marriage of 46 years; daughter and son-in-law, Alisha and Chad Crabill of Little Rock, daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Kenneth Leitch of Little Rock, five granddaughters, Jessica, Ashley, Cameran, Kaylee, and Alexis; a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Victor Juengel of Helena; nephew, Rodney Bowen and his wife Gabriela of Hot Springs, and nephew, Stewart Juengel of Benton. \The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton with Pastor Steven Teske officiating. Employees of Red Gate Liquor will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Alexander at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at Ashby's.
