John Lewis Warden

This past Saturday July 21st, Mountain View resident John Lewis Warden was called to duty by his Lord and Savior. He was born December 31st, 1942 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late Mr. & Mrs. B.F. Warden Jr. He is survived by his children, John Eric Warden his wife Heather of Cabot and Melissa Gregson her husband Shane of Sherwood; his brothers B.F. Warden lll of Atlanta, Georgia and G.M. Warden of Pocahontas, Arkansas; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Sumner, Leighton, Gary Dean, Lucy and Meaghan. He is preceded in death by his sister Linda Warden. He honorably served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War. After returning home he was a Cotton Belt Engineer for 37 years. He was also a proud member of the Marine Corps League of Jefferson City, Mo. He was an avid reader and loved gardening and being outdoors. It has been said he never met a stranger and was known for his practical jokes and for being funny as Hell! In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation in Quantico, Virginia. The family will receive friends at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock on Thursday July 26th, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 27th, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
