Bettie Lou Pearce

Bettie Lou (Atkins) Pearce passed away July 26, 2012 at Saline Hospice. She was born to James Bruce and Mattie Lou Atkins in Star City, Ark., July 30, 1927. Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 62 years Ray "Sleepy" Pearce; infant son, Ronald Lee Pearce; son, Thomas Earl "Tommy" Pearce and her little dog Dee. Bettie was a wonderful wife and mother who loved her home and taking care of her family. She was always there to help anyone in need. Ray and Bettie were avid Razorback fans. They loved to dance to Big Band music, winning several contest. Bettie retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1986 with 37 years of service. She was a member of Pioneers of America, MAH LAH NA Temple Court 136 and the DAV Auxiliary. She is survived by her son Ray "Skip" Pearce III, daughter-in-law, Debbie; sister, Hazel Miller, and brother, Jim Atkins, all of Hot Springs; sister-in-law, Martha Sue Pearce Bost of Pine Bluff, seven nephews and one niece; special friends, Roger Benge and J. Michael Jackson of Little Rock. Bettie was blessed with a large group of wonderful friends whom she loved dearly and who loved her. They are too numerous to name in this writing, you know who you are and Bettie's family wishes to thank you for being such a big part of her life. A Memorial Service will be held at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills, 10200 Hwy 5 N., Alexander, Ark. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. Reverend Mike Snell will officiate. Burial will be private.
