Mable Louise Daniels Keown, 83 went home peacefully to be with Lord Friday, July 27, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in St. Charles, Arkansas and moved to Little Rock as a teenager to complete high school. In Little Rock, she met and married Woodrow Keown, Sr. who preceded her in death less than three month ago. She was an active member of Pleasant Hill C.M.E. Church in College Station where she was a member of the choir and had served as a member of the stewardess board and missionary society. She loved to cook for her family and on any Sunday and all holidays, family members would gather at "the house" to eat and share stories with each other. We are going to miss her jokes, her cooking, her presence but in our hearts knew that she was weary and tired and at 8:45 a.m. on Friday morning, July 27th her earthly life ended and she took up residence in her heavenly mansion. Preceding her in death were her husband, Woodrow Sr.; parents, grandparents. She is survived by four daughters, Barbara (Alonzo) Gilkey of Little Rock, Phyllis (Jerry) Winton and Karen White both of Maumelle and Avis Leeper of Charlotte, North Carolina; three sons, Woodrow, Jr. (Edna) of Cincinnati, Ohio, James (Barbara) of San Antonio, Texas and Ronald of Lowell, Arkansas and a very special niece, Ada Keown of Little Rock; brothers, Horace, Carl and Quedell Carter; sisters, Rose Woods, Ollie Carter, Lidie Jordan, Mary Buchanan all of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Freddie B. Phillips of Little Rock; sister in laws, Eller Keown and Roberta Irby both of Little Rock; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren also cherish her memory. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012, 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill CME Church, 3801 East 38th Street, Little Rock (College Station), Ark. Interment will be on Monday, August 6, 2012, 10 a.m., at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 Maryland Ave., North Little Rock, Ark.
