Rodney D. Lyons, 56, passed away on May 30, 2012 at his home in Hickory Creek, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas on September 1, 1955 to Henry and Hazel Lyons. He graduated from Lonoke High School in 1972. Rodney very proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. After his service of duty, much of his career was spent as a Production Manager, primarily in the Aviation industry. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Lyons, of Lonoke, Arkansas, son, Jacob Lyons, of Denton, Texas and father-in-law, Frank Miller, of Ruston, Louisiana. Surviving him is his wife Robin, 3 sons Matt Lyons and Ben Lyons of the home, Mike Lyons of Gretna, Nebraska, and one daughter, Jaime Lyons of Corinth, Texas; mother, Hazel Lyons, sister, Lori (Art) Cole, brother, Tommy (Christy) Lyons all of Lonoke, Arkansas, brother, Michael (Aree) Lyons of Lexington Park, Maryland, mother-in-law, Faye Miller of Frisco, Texas, sister-in-law, Carol (Stan) Vaughan of Fairview, Texas, brother-in-law, Hamp (Avis) Miller of Ruston, Louisiana, one nephew, Parker Cole, four nieces, Natasha (Brock) Durham, Jennifer Lyons, Janet Lyons and Caren (Joe) Wagner, three great-nieces, Emma Durham, Caroline Wagner and Cate Wagner. Also survived by special friends, Neil (Margaret) Goldsmith, and their children, Caleb, Caide and Paisley of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The family would also like to thank the staff at American Hospice, Texas Oncology of Denton and our many friends and family that gave us support through their love and prayers. The services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday June 1, 2012 located at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, Texas. A private viewing for the immediate family will be held after the services with Mulkey Mason handling the arrangements for the cremation.
