BETTY L. SKINNER, aged 84, of Little Rock, Ark., died at Hospice Home Care on Thursday, June 7, 2012. Betty was born Jan. 30,1928, in Greeneville, TN, to the late Ray and Hazel Humphreys. She attended St James High School in Cedar Creek, Tenn. On Dec. 27, 1954 she married Bob Lee Skinner from Quitman, Ark. They made their home in Knoxville, Tenn. and started a family. Bob's service obligations required them to move several time over the next few years. The family lived in Maine, Germany and Texas. After Bob's retirement from the Air Force in 1967, they moved to Little Rock and made Arkansas their home. Betty worked over 20 years at Baptist Medical Center. She retired in 1993 and spent her retirement years cooking, gardening and enjoying her grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bob L. Skinner; two sisters, Virginia Anderson and Mary Collins; a brother, Rex Humphreys. She is survived by two children, Mike Skinner, and Jane Crow; six grandchildren, Stacey Bittle, Tommy Bittle, Todd Bittle, Matthew Martin, Michelle Persaud and Kelsie Persaud; two sisters, Cleo Buttram and Bea Yates and her husband Bert; two brothers, RB Humphreys and Ted Humphreys and their wives, Clara Ruth and Vivian. In addition, one sister-n-law Linda Humphreys and one brother-n-law Tom Anderson. She is further survived by her in laws, Troy and Nadine Skinner, Ruth Minton, Pauline Murphey, Ed and Peggy Bradford, Porter and Sarah Bray and Edith Holiman; and good friends Lynn and Ceddie Persaud and host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. today, (Sunday June 10, 2012) at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th St, Little Rock (501) 661-9111. Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m., June 12, in the chapel of Griffin Legget Healy and Roth, with Rev. Jeff Carter, Director of Hospice Home Care Chaplains, officiating. The family would like to thank Hospice Home Care for the loving and compassionate care our mother received during her illness.
