JULIUS E. "JUDE" BRUMETT, 82, of Van Buren, Ark. passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012. He was born Feb. 28, 1930 in Lonoke, Ark. to Allen and Minnie Brumett. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Betty Sue Norton Brumett; his parents, Allen and Minnie Brumett and a brother, Joe Allen Brumett. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Concord Methodist Church in Lonoke, Ark. Visitation will be 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Concord Cemetery in Lonoke, Ark. A reception will follow at the Concord Methodist Church. Jude is survived by his daughter, Judie Burnett Elstone and husband, Marty of LaGrange, Ky.; his son, Rick Brumett and wife D'Ann of Van Buren; granddaughter, Rachel Brumett Rotert and husband, Kevin of Kansas City, Mo.; grandson, Matthew Brumett of Van Buren; brother, Jake Brumett and wife, Carlene of Austin, Texas; sister-in-law Mary "Dolly" Brumett of Pine Bluff, Ark. Jude served his country proudly in both the US Navy and the Seabees. He was a retired nursing home administrator where he worked in Little Rock with wife, Betty for 35 years. He was a Mason, a former deacon at Caney Missionary Baptist Church in Bismarck, Ark. He attended the Heritage United Methodist Church of Van Buren. Jude spent the last years of his life under the loving care of the tremendous staff at Crawford Health Care and Rehab in Van Buren, Ark. Honorary pallbearers will be Uncle Jude's nephews.
