Rev. I. V. Caldwell, 91, of Little Rock died Monday, June 25, 2012. He was born January 9, 1921 in Washington, Arkansas to John and Annie Caldwell. He was preceded in death by two sons, John and Ivory Caldwell. Known affectionally as "the vegetable man." Rev. Caldwell took pride in providing his customers some of the freshest produce along with a song and a soul-stirring sermon. He pastored the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Scott, Arkansas, the Landmark Baptist Church in Ferda, Arkansas, and the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Biscoe, Arkansas. Rev. Caldwell was a long time member of St. Peter's Rock Baptist Church under the Rev. Dr. J.E. Booker. In l987, he joined St. John Baptist Church under the Rev. Dr. C. Dennis Edwards. He served as an associate minister and attended faithfully until his health no longer allowed. Even while in the nursing home occasionally, he would attend church. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 68 years, Artiller Caldwell, daughter, Allene of Oakland, California, and sons, Gerald (Gracie) and Thurmond both of Kansas City, Missouri, and Rev. Dr. Carlton R. Caldwell of St. Louis, Missouri, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012 at St. John Baptist Church, 2501 Main Street, Little Rock, Arkansas. Family Hour 7:15 - 8:15 p.m., Friday, Hubble Chapel. Funeral Services entrusted to Hubble Funeral Home, 374-3134.
