James "Jim" Wylie Wingate, age 73 of Cabot, passed away June 26, 2012 in Little Rock. He was born April 18, 1939. He graduated from Cabot High School in 1957. He enjoyed listening to gospel music, fishing, raising cattle and having conversations with his friends at Lake Pickthorne. He excelled in Football and All-State Track, was President of State Square Dancing Association and a member of the Arkansas Air National Guard Reserve, as well. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pauline Wingate of the home; daughter Sheila Kim Barker and son-in-law Kevin Barker of Cabot; son James (Bud) Wingate and fiance'e Amanda Gilson of Cabot; two grandchildren: Kevin Dustin Barker and fiancée Emily Dixon and James Paul Wingate Jr. and fiance'e Desiree Beth Dunlap; his devoted dog: Hound Puppy who was always at his side; sisters: Barbara Dodson, Patsy Ray and Erma Veir; and brother Charlie Wingate. Visitation Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Graveside service will be held, Friday June 29, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Sumner Cemetery.
