Charles Clifton

Charles Choice Clifton, 83, of Rogers, Arkansas died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born November 28, 1928 in Texas the son of Ora Lee Trantham and Charles Wayne Clifton. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy where he obtained an Honorable Discharge. He worked with Gulf Oil for over 33 years as an Office Services Manager in Texas. He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 28 years after moving from Houston, Texas. He was a member of the Rogers Noon Lions Club for many years. He enjoyed hunting and golf earlier in his life He enjoyed gardening and spending quality time with his family in recent years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Charles is survived by; his wife Frances Clifton, of the home, whom he married November 28, 1948, one son; Charles Vernon Clifton and his wife Kathy, of Pearland, Texas, one daughter; Yvonne Bish and her husband Jeff, of Little Rock, Arkansas, three grandchildren; Taylor Elizabeth Bish, Austin Jennings Bish, and Blair Charles Bish. Visitation: Saturday, June 30, 2012 from 10 a.m. until service time at First United Methodist Church in downtown Rogers. Funeral service: Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Rogers with Rev. Sandra Wanasek and Rev. David B. Bentley officiating.
