Hilda R. Griffis

Hilda Ruth Griffis, age 77, of Lake Village, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana. She was born December 20, 1934 in Heidelberg, Mississippi, the daughter of the late George Green Sr. and Irma McDonald Green and was a homemaker and a member of Omega Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Griffis and by three brothers, Johnny Green, William Green and Marion Green. Survivors are her husband, Harold H. Griffis of Lake Village; one son, Johnny Griffis of Eudora; three daughters, Marla Ainsworth and her husband, Jerry, of Kilbourne, Louisiana, Harolyn Cook of Lake Village and Mickey Clark and her husband, Reagan, of Lake Village; 2 brothers, Mack Green of Kilbourne, Louisiana and George Green Jr. of Oakwood, Texas; two sisters, Doris White of Benton and Sylvia Johnson of West Monroe, Louisiana; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 29, 2012 at Bishop Funeral Home in Lake Village. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Omega Baptist Church in Eudora with Bro. Aaron McGuffee and Bro. Matt Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Kilbourne Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
