Robert Edward Peterson

Robert Edward Peterson, age 90, of Camden, died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Ouachita County Medical Center. He was a member and head usher of the First United Methodist Church of Camden, an Army Veteran of World War II, a past President of Chamber of Commerce in Baytown, Texas, and past President of Board of Regents Lee College in Baytown, Texas. He was Chief Engineer of US Steel, 60 year Mason, and board member of the Camden Country Club. He is preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Lillian Halverson Peterson; grandson, Rick Peterson; daughter-in-law, Donna Peterson; brother, Arthur Peterson; and great-granddaughter, Mollie Mutz. Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife, Jean Peterson of Camden; son, Tom Peterson of Sparkman; daughter, Barbara Rainey and husband, Dennis of Roland, Ark.; sons, John Peterson and wife, Judy of Baytown, Texas and Jim Peterson and wife, Snow of Friendswood, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley Escue, Ben Rainey, Samuel Rainey, Rebecca Mutz, Deborah Petrik, Laura Rainey, Jacob Peterson, Matthew Peterson, Nathan Peterson, Adam Peterson, Enoch Peterson, Sadonnie Fults, Jamie Peterson, Riley Peterson, and Josh Peterson; twenty great-grandchildren. The family would like to the thank the Ouachita County Hospital Staff for their care of Mr. Peterson. Graveside service will be 9 a.m., Saturday at Sardis Cemetery with memorial service following at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Buddy Ratliff will officiate the service. n lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund or Food Pantry.
