Thelma Lowana Brumley

Thelma Lowana Gordon Brumley, 78, of Fordyce died Friday, March 2, 2012 at her home. She was born April 13, 1933 in Hopewell, Va. Lowana was retired Dallas County Treasurer, and owner of Fordyce Floral. She was also a member of First Baptist Church, Sesame Club and a loyal Democrat. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rossie James Gordon and Thelma Louise Hanks Gordon; husband, James Allen Brumley. She is survived by two sons, Rick Brumley and wife, Diane of Des Arc, and Chris Brumley of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Ronald Gordon of Dinwiddie, Va.; one sister, Kathy Brigman of Disputanta, Va.; two granddaughters, Emily Arrison and husband Mike of Arkadelphia, Abby Baldwin and husband Blake of Fayetteville. Visitation will be Sunday 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Fordyce with Rev. Stacy Reed officiating.
