Frances Scobey Guppy Ellis Smith

Frances Scobey Guppy Ellis Smith died March 2, 2012 at Cabot Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Cabot. She was born March 6, 1921 in Warren, Ark. to William Frederick and Lacy Paisley Scobey. Albion Guppy and Frances Scobey Guppy were married in 1940 in St. Louis, Mo. and were the parents of five children. She is survived by their children, Marium Frances Guppy and husband, David Bonner Oates, of Pottsville; William Frederick Guppy and wife, Gayle, of Jacksonville; Nancy Lane Guppy and husband, John Mark, of Jacksonville, David Robert Guppy and wife, Tonya, of Lonoke, and Albion Guppy of Mason City, Iowa. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Justin Michael Guppy. Also preceding her in death were her parents, and husbands, Albion Guppy, Jewell J. Ellis and Kenneth J. Smith. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Cabot Manor, Arkansas Hospice and special friend, Alta Sullivan, for the love and care shown their mother. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 16 at Roselawn Cemetery with Rev. Paul Woolley and Rev. William Howard Wheeler, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pottsville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, P. O.
