Kenny "Ken" Combs, 60, of Russellville, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 8, 2012 in Little Rock, Ark. The son of James and Frankie McMillen Combs, he was born Feb. 27, 1952 in Conway. He married Jennifer Gail Ford, on Jan. 1, 1977 in Ashdown. He retired from the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Yell County Farm Bureau Board and the Yell County Cattleman's Board. Ken was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed taking pictures of old barns, working in the fields with the farmers and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, James "Jimmy" Combs; maternal grandparents, Sannie and Pearl McMillen; paternal grandparents, Steve and Jessie Combs. Ken wanted everyone to know how very much he loved the Lord, his family, his church family and all his many friends. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Jennifer Combs of Russellville; mother, Frankie Combs of Shady Grove; daughter, Robyn Smith and husband Josh of Prairie Grove; son, Dustin Combs and wife Dawn of Russellville; four grandchildren, Makayla Smith, Savannah Smith, Bentley Smith and Carson Combs; one sister, Judy Daves and husband Cecil of Shady Grove; two nieces, Anita Murray and husband Brandon of Wooster and Sharon Daves of Atlanta, Ga.; one nephew, Gary Daves and wife Marla of Atlanta, Ga. Funeral will be 2 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2012 at Humphrey Chapel. Brother Lynn Harris will officiate. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Hector, Ark. by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., on Monday, at the funeral home.
