Bert Wright Jr.

Bert Wright Jr., 77, passed away March 11, 2012 in Fort Smith. He was born February 14, 1935 in Lake City, AR to Bert and Ethel Reed Wright. He retired as Vice-President from First National Bank of Fort Smith, and was a longtime supporter and promoter of Fort Smith, particularly focusing on beautifying and revitalizing its downtown area. Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Friday, March 16, 2012, in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 15, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home. He is survived by one daughter, Sarah Gray Johnson of Orlando, Fla.; one son, Dr. John Dana Wright of Fort Smith; one sister, Geneva Mae Walker of Truman, Ark.; and four grandchildren, Hope and Grey Johnson, and Will and Walt Wright.
