Barnes Duaine (Wayne) Holman, 85, of Cabot was born Aug. 31, 1926 in Springhill, Texas and passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the North Little Rock Veterans Hospital. Mr. Holman served his country in the United States Air Force during WW ll and was active in the Berlin Air Lift. He also served in the Texas National Guard. He then became an advocate for disabled veterans. He was known as an avid collector of guns, clocks, coins and cars. He was a Mason for 52 years and was of the Baptist faith. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 61 years, Grace Holman of Cabot; his daughter, Sharon and her husband Clifford Hicks of Cabot; a brother, George Wayne Holman of Waco, Texas; grandchildren, Amy and husband James Lang of Cabot, Jennifer and husband Daniel Menden of Sherwood and Ryan Hicks of Cabot; great-grandchildren include Hannah and Hayden Lang, Briley Menden and Jayda Hicks. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Eulier (Junior) and John. His family would like to thank the North Little Rock VA Hospital Nursing Unit 1-D for their loving care provided during the past several months. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock with funeral services on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
