Anna Mae Parker Tolbert

Anna Mae Parker Tolbert, 89, of DeWitt died Monday, March 26, 2012. She was born September 20, 1922 in Van to Eston Theodore and Willie Emma Eason Parker. She along with her husband were retired caretakers of the DeWitt Fire Station and was also a seamstress, sewing for many people in DeWitt. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church where she was a very active member and long time President of the Auxiliary. Survivors inclulde her sons: Richard Tolbert (Beverly) of Pope, Miss., Carl Wayne "Doc" Tolbert of DeWitt; sisters: Bernice Clemons of Pocahontas, Faye Criswell (Luke), Linda Johnson (Johnny) all of DeWitt; brothers: Bill Parker (Meryle) of DeWitt, James Parker (LaFern) of Broken Arrow, OK, Steve Parker (Beverly) of Little Rock; sisters-in-law: LaValle Moore of Cabot, Betty Parker Brown of Benton; brothers-in-law: Homer Tolbert (Lois) of Benton, Joe Tolbert (Valeda) of Star City; grandchildren: Marty Tolbert (Lisa), Melissa Welch all of Batesville, Brandon Tolbert of DeWitt; great grandchildren: Elizabeth and Carley Tolbert, Meredith and Hannah Welch along with a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl Tolbert, daughter, Vicki Lynn Tolbert, daughter-in-law, Clarice Tolbert, brother, Ernest Parker, and grand son-in-law, Stan Welch. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, March 30th, at Unity Baptist Church with burial at Forks LaGrue Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or DeWitt Nursing Home.
