Dennis Lynn Barnes

Dennis Lynn Barnes, born March 19, 1948, in Long Beach, California, went home to Jesus, March 27, 2012. Proudly of Irish descent, Dennis had a successful career in the railroad industry, becoming their youngest officer at 21, and then moving on to become VP of a shipping firm before retiring in 2005 He also owned a successful restaurant in Mountain Home, Arkansas until September 2009. A proud Republican, Dennis also belonged to various civil and political organizations. Always a kind and loving man, Dennis will be sorely missed by family and friends. He is survived by Judith Fordyce, long time companion, fiance'e and friend; a son, Michael Barnes (Tracy) of Salem, Oregon; a stepson, John Stanley of Hot Springs; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Stanley and Erin Parker, both of Conway; one stepniece, Brenda Stafford of Hamburg; two step granddaughters, Isabella Stanley and Sophia Dean, also of Conway; and Bridgie, his beloved 13 year old Boston Terrier. Welcomed into Heaven by parents, Elmer and Violet Barnes and stepson, Jacob Stanley, Dennis is finally at peace and in no pain. A memorial service and life celebration to honor Dennis will be held in his home at 3183 Stacy Drive, Conway, Arkansas 72034, beginning at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012. All friends and relatives are invited. The family would like to extend a special thanks the Critical Care nurses and physicians at UAMS, in Little Rock.
