Christine McFarland Munford

Christine McFarland Munford, age 98, of Banks, Arkansas died Thursday, March 29, at St John's Place, Fordyce. She was born September 17, 1913 at Banks, Arkansas a daughter of the late Auburn McFarland and Hattie Smith McFarland. She was a Methodist, a clothes designer for Kellwood Designer Company, Little Rock for 20 years; a Sears Roebuck provider, a long time member of the Banks Extension Club and a member of the Banks City Council for 30 years. She married Morgan Munford on October 8, 1932 at Banks and he died March 3, 1995. Surviving is a son David Munford, Tyler, Texas; a daughter Karen Archer, Fordyce, Ark.; a brother Roy Herbert McFarland, Jefferson, Texas; three sisters May Dean Sweatman, Camden, Ark., Bobbie Sue Whisenhunt, Fort Smith, Ark. and Nelsie Bershen, Monroe, La.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Swan; three brothers A.J. McFarland, Curtis McFarland and Ernest McFarland. Funeral services 2 p.m., Saturday, March 31, at Frazer's Chapel.
