Dorothy Lee Allison Bridwell, 86, of Conway passed away peacefully Thursday, November 1, 2012. She was born April 19, 1926 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the oldest daughter of Robert and Christine Allison's family of ten children. Dorothy was married to Floyd Preston Bridwell on December 22, 1948 until his death in 2002. They moved to Arkansas with their three children in 1966, first living in Hot Springs and then moving to Greers Ferry in 1970 where they owned the Narrows Boat Dock, Snug Harbor Dinner Theater, Chick n' Lick restaurant, and Designer Glass, a stained glass studio. Dorothy was a member of the Higden Church of Christ and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary as well as the Optimist Club of Greers Ferry. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Judy (Clint) Triplett of Greers Ferry, and two sons, Robert (Chris) Bridwell of Conway and Randy Bridwell of North Little Rock. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Ashley (Nathan) Pyle, Matthew (Brandi) Bridwell, and Jim (Candy) Triplett, as well as six great-grandchildren, with a 7th due Christmas Day of this year. Other survivors include three siblings, Monica (John) Cobb of Belton, Missouri, Mildred Clay of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Harold (Vavra) Allison of Huntsville, Alabama as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dorothy will be remembered fondly for her quick wit, independent spirit, culinary skills, and her artistic talent. A private family graveside service will be held at Crossroads Cemetery at Greers Ferry at a later date where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Floyd.
