Sammie Noel Cleaver

Sammie Noel Cleaver, 91, of Georgetown, passed from this life on Thursday, October 18, 2012. He was born June 1, 1921 in McClelland, Arkansas to the late Sammie Monroe and Minnie Johnson Cleaver. Sam retired after 35 years from Diabold Safe and Lock Company in Detroit, Michigan. He served in the CCC Camp which is part of the U.S. Army and 10 years in the U.S. Navy fighting in World War 2 and the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pauline Cleaver; two brothers, Tommy Cleaver and wife Helen and Chester Cleaver of Kokomo, Indiana; one sister, Ruby Smith and husband Jimmy of West Point; two granddaughters, Valerie Berry and Rhonda Schultz; two great grandsons; three great granddaughters all of Michigan. Sam is preceded in death by both parents; one son, Ron Johnson; five brothers, Grover; Theodore; Paul, Ernest and Charlie; and one sister, Carson Thomas. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home with visitation at 1 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Georgetown Cemetery.
