J. Marie Bumgardner

J. Marie Bumgardner, age 88, of Benton went to be with the Lord Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012. She was born on Nov. 10, 1923 in England, Ark. to the late Charlie J. and Minnie Mae Miller. She was a homemaker, an excellent cook, and a member of Highland Heights Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William Z. (Bill) Bumgardner; three brothers, Charlie, Claude, and Calvin Miller and three sisters, Rita Woods, Eula Clark, and Pat Chaney. Survivors include her children, Bob Bumgardner (Reita) of Clarksville, Tenn., Randy Bumgardner of Orlando, Fla., and Debbie (Jim) Petty of Searcy, Ark.; sister, Veda Cox of Benton; brother, Dee Ray Miller of Scott, Ark.; four grandchildren, Mark Bumgardner of Zionsville, Ind., Eric Bumgardner of Georgetown, Texas, Brian Petty of Maumelle, Ark., and Lisa Petty of Las Vegas, Nev., and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) with Rev. Bob Stuckey officiating. Interment will follow in Old Rosemont Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday afternoon Sept. 16 at the funeral home.
