Gerald E. Scott

Gerald E. Scott, age 89, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013. He was born March 13, 1924 in Dillon, Kansas. Mr. Scott was a W.W. II Navy Veteran, a self employed heavy equipment operator and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Flossie Scott; four brothers; three sisters and one grandson. He is survived by his wife, Meda H. Scott of Benton; two sons, Gerald Scott Jr. and Dennis Scott both of Avilla; three daughters, Connie Brewer (Leon) of Haskell, Sherry Plain of Avilla and Robin Scott of Vista, California; sister, Frances Pelton (John) of Benton; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 7 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 8 at Zion Lutheran Church with burial at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
