Marjorie Christine Burton, 90, died after a lengthy bout with Alzheimer's disease. She was a member of First Baptist Church of El Dorado, and the wife of the late Reverend John Fletcher Burton. She is survived by her three children , Vertis (Richard) Mason of El Dorado, Valorie (Randy) Lawson of Bentonville, and Charles (Carol) Burton of Little Rock; along with her grandchildren Lara Mason of El Dorado, Ashley (Caitlyn) Mason of Little Rock, Rachel (Brian) Nutt of Bentonville, Aaron (Ginger) Lawson of Bentonville, Bitsy (Grant) Blanchard of Ozark, Missouri, and eight great-grandchildren. Marjorie's favorite scripture was, Matthew 25:40, "When you have done it unto the least of these, ye have done it unto me". She lived that scripture every day of her life. One of the last things she said to Vertis, who was delivering a potted plant to her, was "Oh, it's so pretty. We should give that to the poor". Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Crossroads Cemetery near Smackover, Ark. The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Directors on Friday evening from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to Hope Landing, 214 Hope Landing, El Dorado, Atk. 71730.
