Betty Woodard

Betty Joye Woodard, age 83, of Benton died on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at home. Betty was born on April 21, 1929 in Banks, Ark., a daughter of the late Robert C. and Addie E. McLeod, both of Banks, Ark. She was a graduate of the Banks School System. Betty was a member of Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from Smith Caldwell Drugstore. In addition to her late parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harold Lee Woodard, Sr. and her older sister, Frances Lorine McLeod Rigsby. She is survived by two sons, Harold Woodard, Jr. and wife Sharen, Robert Woodard and wife Regina, both of Benton; one brother-in-law, Lathan Woodard of Benton; two sisters-in-law, Pauline McLeod and Sissy Johnson, both of Warren; four grandchildren, Zeke Woodard and wife Amy, Andrew Woodard and wife Liz, Taylor Finley and husband Jason all of Benton and Luke Woodard and wife Laura of Conway and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Zeke Woodard, Luke Woodard, Andrew Woodard, Jason Finley, William "Petie" Woodard and Russell Woodard. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 8 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 9 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Ten Mile Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the hospice nurses and aides at Saline Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care and love that was given to Betty during her final days.
