Mel LaVier

Mel LaVier, a resident of Edgemont, Ark., passed away April 13, 2013 at home. Mel, a career Army vet, served with Special Forces in Vietnam and was a distinguished member of the Army Golden Knights parachute team. After retiring he became the Director of QA at Cleo Wrap in Memphis, Tenn., from which he retired in 1999 and moved to Edgemont, Ark., where he enjoyed many hobbies and wonderful friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Carel; sons Chris (Donna), Richie (Wendi); daughter Andrea Greg); grandchildren, Alex & Jessica and Keira May; and great-grandson, Jax. Memorial service will be on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 2 p.m. at West Side Baptist Church.
